Brook Green Association

Brook Green Association
Bugle Says

There's been a big shake-up at the BGA and there is a now a proposed new team in town, due for ratification at the AGM on  Tuesday 22nd March (7.30pm, Holy Trinity Parish Centre). On the agenda are some hot issues: the currently co-opted officers will be standing for election and there is a proposition tabled that could have far-reaching consequences for the Green. This is, after all, the year that the Brook Green Vision starts to come into play, the year that the kickabout area hopefully makes the transition from Somme battleground to green field, the year of new designs for the playground and the year that the tennis courts are put out to tender. Wouldn't you rather be a part of that?

The BGA, now run by the tireless Gilia Slocock, has a low profile but a high achievement rate on getting things done around Brook Green. For a nominal £3 annual sub (£5 per family), the BGA keeps you in touch. There is currently a deal on membership: five years' for the cost of four. Click here to join directly.

A monthly ‘hot points’ bulletin is emailed to those members who are online, along with three newsletters per annum (hard copy delivered to those who don’t have email), dealing with local planning issues, everything to do with the actual Green, including the playground, crime prevention and a host of other local priorities. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the Association is also monitoring the treelife and cleanliness of the area, parking problems and organising visits to local places of interest - like tours round the BBC.

"RECRUITMENT DRIVE

Although the Association has a core of old-established members, so many properties locally have changed hands in the last few years that we feel many householders are unaware of the BGA and its work on their behalf.  We are planning a concerted recruitment drive shortly but in the meantime, if you have new neighbours or know of anyone whom you think could be interested in joining the Association, do please give their name and address to Ainslie Johnston at bgaphoenix@bga.myzen.co.uk or 7603 6096.  Alternatively, they can read about the Association on its website www.brookgreenassociation.org "
